The Nightcrawler is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII. It is an enormous, spike-covered centipede monster with a fearsome visage.

Characteristics[edit]

Large orange creepy caterpillars that a covered in a thick layer of threatening purple barbs. Despite their frightful face and fangs, they much prefer to fling themselves at foes spike side first, and won't hesitate to flee from battle whenever they encounter a strong foe.

Trivia[edit]

  • Nightcrawler is a term used mainly in North America for the common earthworm, also known as Lumbricus terrestris, a large species of worm that digs deep burrows in the ground and emerges at night. They are commonly used as fishing lures.
