|Effect||Temporarily prevents random encounters.|
Holy water, (also known as fairy water or repellent), is a repellent in the Dragon Quest series. It is used to avoid random encounters, simulating the Holy Protection spell. In Dragon Quest IV, it can be used to give minor damage to monsters in battle. In Dragon Quest IX, its function was altered slightly to simulate the Vanish ability.
Starting from this game, Fairy water was sold in item shops. The buying price is 40 gold coins.
Fairy water is sold for item shops for 20 gold coins and sold for 15.
Captain N and Princess Lana purchase this at the item shop as it's the only thing left. Unlike Dragon Quest, the effect of the water is that it can be used against evil magic. It's ultimately used to remove the Cursed necklace from Simon Belmont.
- This wondrous water wards off weaker enemies for a wee while. (Description when selecting the Holy water in Nintendo DS Dragon Quest IV.)
