Royal soil is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a clump of earth possessing magical properties that is used as a crafting ingredient.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

Royal soil can be collected on Newid Isle and Mt. Ulbaruun or has an 8% chance of being found in Rank 2 blue chests. It can be dropped by Barriearthenwarriors, Drastic drackals, Mad moais, Terror trolls, and the Ragin' Contagion. Two urns are required to complete Quest #36: Little Miss Bossy Boots. Royal soil is used extensively in different alchemy recipes:

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Royal soil is used as an ingredient in Alchemy and equipment crafting. It can be picked up from sparkly spots or dropped by various monsters, including Golems, Lickspittles, Silhouettes, and Umbras.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Royal soil can be purchased from the roving emporium at the Heliodor Region during the second act for 360 gold coins or received from sparkly spots at the Laguna di Gondolia, the Dundrasil Region, and the Zwaardsrust Region. It also has a 18 chance of being dropped by Golems. Royal soil is used in the following recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]

Royal soil can be dropped by Imps, Minidemons, and Golems or received from King Flaminio in exchange for three Mini medals each. It can be sold for 9 gold coins or used to create Prayer rings, Endure rings, Strength rings, Care rings, Rings of truth, Rings of immunity, and Rousing rings in the Alchemy Pot. Two urns of royal soil each are required to complete Quest #30: Ideal Garden Expedition and Quest #77: Unnatural Science.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Royal soil is used as an ingredient to improve various accessories. It can be dropped by High djinks, Low djinks, Mud mannequins, and Shades.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit]

Royal soil can be collected from brown nodes of ore on the Paternoggin and the Wingswept Moors or received by sending a dispatch team to the Snouterhorn or Forsaken Station Area of the Paternoggin and the Swoopswamp or Greywing Gateway Areas of the Wingswept Moors. It is mainly used for crafting pellets at the Werks or for scouting monsters.
