The chasmonaut is a recurring monster in the DQSeries, first introduced in Dragon Quest II. It is an undead foot soldier serving in the Archfiend's armies.

Characterstics
Chasmomauts are skeletal warriors with yellowing bones that are clad in red and pink armor who carry a longsword and shield into battle. The shield bears the symbol of the Children of Hargon on it. They have a chance to drop the shields they carry, which will curse any adventurer with the misfortune to equip them. After a nearly 30 year absence in the series, the skeletons made their reappearance in Dragon Quest XI.
Characteristics
Gyldenbritches is a golden suit of armour armed with a longsword and a round shield. Like their iron counterparts, the suits of armor appear to be completely empty inside. Their main distinguishing characteristic is the Viking skull symbol emblazoned on their shield and right pauldron. The symbol features a horned viking helmet and a pair of crossed swords. These golden captains are the loyal underlings of the Spectral Sentinel Gyldygga, commanding her foot soldiers and carrying out her every command.
Gyldenaut is a recurring monster in the DQSeries, first appearing in Dragon Quest XI. It is a gold-plated variant of the Deadnaut.

Characteristics
Gyldenauts are skeletal warriors whose bones and armaments are completely composed of gold. Despite their appearance, they actually belong to the Material family instead of being undead. They are distinguished by the Viking skull symbol emblazoned on their breastplate and on their shields, replacing the bat insignia of the Children of Hargon seen on other bone swordsmen. The symbol features a horned viking helmet and a pair of crossed swords. In battle, they are capable of paralysing their opponents with rapid sword strikes. These foot soldiers are completely loyal to the Spectral Sentinel Gyldygga and follow the orders of their captains, the Gyldenbritches.
Juggerwroth (ジャハガロス, Jahagarosu), the strongest servant of Rhapthorne, is a monster introduced in the remake of DQ8.

Characteristics
Juggerwroth is a massive demon with the lower body of a sauropod and the torso of a muscular humanoid. His skin is teal adorned with scarlet tattoos. His shoulders are lined with large spikes, and his head is crowned with ram's horns.

Story
After the sealing of Rhapthorne, the Seven Sages were too exhausted to properly deal with Juggerwroth. Instead of locking him away in an inanimate object, they turned him to stone and prayed no one would ever find him lest he accidentally be revived.
The iron scorpion is a recurring monster in the series, first seen in the original game. It is a stronger variant of the Scorpion with a protective metal carapace.

Characteristics
Iron scorpions are a metal-coated menace that boast superior defences to their organic bug brethren. The soft undersides of their bodies, which can only been seen on their faces, is dark pink. The arachnids are able to shrug off attacks from simple weapons, requiring adventurers to improve their equipment or resort to taking them out with magic. The iron scorpion returned to the series in VIII after many years along with the rest of its scorpion kin.
The Cumulus Vex is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries, first appearing as a boss in Dragon Quest VII. It is a king of the skies whose body is made up of clouds.

Characteristics
Cumulus vex has the appearance of an old wizard whose body and clothes are completely composed of golden clouds. It has solid green eyes, pointed ears, and a long majestic beard that reaches down to its feet. On top of its head, it has two long strands of "hair" that stick up like horns while the rest seems to blend in with the billowing robes it is wearing. Its hands have three digits each and the bottom of its body is surrounded by grey stormclouds. It is a fearsome enemy to face in battle, calling upon razor-sharp blasts of wind that rip apart its enemies and overwhelming the unprepared with sheer numbers due to its ability to call upon Sky fries to aid it in battle. In the Nintendo 3DS and Reimagined versions of VII, it speaks in wind-based puns. Although the Cumulus vex was a boss in its first appearance, it went on to become a regular enemy when it reappeared in IX. According to its description in IX, cumulus vexes may actually be a genetic mutation of the Freezing fog.
Stategy
The Cumulus vex is a tough boss, being able to act twice in a single turn. It uses wind-based attacks like Thin Air, that hits all of the party for about 60 points of damage, and Wind Sickles, that hits one Party 7 member for 80 damage (~100 in the 3DS version). Its ability to summon multiple Sky fries makes the battle more difficult. Thankfully, the sky fries can be put to sleep, have their spells sealed away, or confused to take them out of the action.

Attacks that hit more than one enemy are very helpful. Although it is expensive, the Flametang boomerang that can be purchased in Aeolus Vale will likely be the strongest weapon acquirable at that point that can hit all enemies. Boom is effective as well. Unfortunately, Ruff's Call of the Wild and the Shepherd's Lambpede are completely useless in the battle. Physical attackers should focus their attacks on the Cumulus vex or use Sword Dance. Spellcasters should keep the party healed, cast Kabuff and Oomph when necessary, and use group attack spells to defeat the Sky fries. Magic Barrier can also be cast to help protect the party, but in the 3DS version, it no longer reduces the damage taken from its wind attacks.

Make sure that you keep your party's health is above 100 HP and that you are sufficiently buffed to achieve victory.

The Spawny devil is a version of Little devil. It first appeared in Dragon Quest XI.

Characteristics
Spawny devils are a version of Little Devils which look like stereotypical diminutive demon, though their purple and green have been coloured green and grey respectively, along with grey swirls on their belly and forehead, in between their antennae. It is the exact same design as Side Winder, a boss in Dragon Quest VII. They return as a regular enemy in Dragon Quest XI. They use their oddly shaped antennae to fire furious beams that deal deadly damage to adventurers. They can also cast Fullheal to bring allies back up to full health. They may also cast Kafuddle to stop adventurers from casting spells themselves and Kaswoosh to deal a lot of damage.
