The story
Angel Falls
She is first seen during the opening scene, walking down the road with her grandfather back to Angel Falls. Unseen, their Guardian, the hero, and his/her mentor Aquila are watching and prevents a group of monsters from harming them. Unlike the other villagers, she believes in the Guardians and issues a prayer, bestowing Benevolessence.

She later discovers the hero at the base of the waterfall after the earthquake, and takes him/her in to recuperate at her house. She is astonished that the mysterious minsrel bore the same name as the Guardian of Angel Falls, but was unaware that it was the same being. The next day, when Ivor and the hero go to investigate the landslide at the pass east of the village, she becomes concerned when she learns that a "Patty" from Stornway went missing in The Hexagon ruins, having remembered her father mentioning the name. To ease her concerns, the hero goes to the ruins to rescue the woman.

Back at Angel Falls, Patty tries unsuccessfully to convince Erinn to take over her father, Edwinn's, inn in Stornway, believing she has her father's talent. That night, the hero recovers Edwinn's "Inny" award with the help of his ghost. Erinn's grandfather reveals that because she was quite a sickly girl when she was younger, Edwinn had moved to Angel Falls so she could drink from the healing waters. Erinn decides to accept Patty's offer after realizing how much her father sacrificed for her.

After the pass is cleared by King Schott's soldiers, Erinn and Patty leave for Stornway, inviting the hero to visit her at theQuester's Rest.

Stornway
At the Quester's Rest, the other employees are highly skeptical that the young girl could salvage their business, until Erinn presents her father's Inny award. Once Erinn gets settled in, Patty suggests hiring the hero to help promote business for Erinn. For the hero's troubles, she gives him/her an employee discount while staying at the inn.

Later, after the hero settles the Wight Knight affair, Erinn presents the hero with an old alchemy pot that had been left behind by a previous customer as "payment." This allows the hero to undertake alchemical pursuits.

Both she and her father share the suffix -inn, and are highly talented at running inns. After Quest 157 "Inn For A Penny, Inn For An Inny", she becomes available as a party member.

Alefgard is the name of the geographical setting of the original Dragon Quest. It also appears in Dragon Quest II and Dragon Quest III, as well as a cameo appearance in Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart. It is a series of continents connected by bridges and caves, making it easily traversable on foot.

Synopsis
Alefgard is the original "overworld" in the Dragon Quest series. It is akin to Torland in Dragon Quest II. However, in later Dragon Quest games, the concept of giving a name to the overall world map was dropped.

Although Alefgard is a set of continents divided by water, generally the divisions are quite small, requiring only bridges to connect the various land masses. The exception to this is the southeastern continent, which can be
reached only via the Swamp Cave. Rather than identifying areas by geographical location, it is easiest to identify regions by the names of towns/villages in the vicinity (i.e. the Kol region).

Dragon Quest
Alefgard serves as the only geographical setting in Dragon Quest. It contains every component of the game and must be fully explored in order to reach Charlock Castle and defeat the Dragonlord.

Dragon Quest II
Alefgard has been severely minimized in favor of the larger world map for Dragon Quest II. Almost all of the Alefgard locations have been removed with the exception of Tantegel, Charlock Castle, and the Southern Shrine. Overall, Alefgard plays no significant role in Dragon Quest II.

Dragon Quest III
Alefgard is the 'underworld' or 'dark world' of Dragon Quest III and is reached late in the game. This game features a full Alefgard, including some locations which did not appear in the original Dragon Quest such as the Tower of Kol. At the end of Dragon Quest III, Alefgard is sealed off from the overworld.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart
Music
Alefgard has its own specific world music which is used consistently in the first 3 Dragon Quest games. This musical theme is arguably the most well known in the series.

Amitt's only daughter. She has a tendency to think that the whole world revolves around her. Nonetheless, she is a faithful friend to you and Kiefer.

--Description from the Dragon Quest VII instructional manual.

Maribel is the daughter of the mayor of Fishbel in the game Dragon Quest VII

Appearance
Maribel has long brunette hair that she wears in curls. She wears a simple one piece robe and a orange kerchief over her hair.

Personality
Maribel is quite snobbish. Being the daughter of the mayor has helped nurture this trait. Her target is usually the Hero. She regards him as a lackey, expecting him to provide protection to her, even in battle. She can be very pushy, especially when she doesn't get her way. Maribel has no problem expressing her opinion on any subject, going so far as to label the WindSpirit a slut. To her parents, she is a tomboy and they would like her to be more ladylike However, beneath this facade is a gentle heart. After she learns of her father's illness, she voluntarily leaves the party to look after him.

Beginning
In the beginning of the night, Maribel is talking to the Hero. She asks him if he will ever tell her where he and Kiefer go every day. Regardless of what the player answers, she will tell him that she will find out someday.

On the day of the Amitt festival, Maribel tries to stow away on the fishing expedition. However she is found out by the hero. When she yells at him for revealing her hiding spot, she is discovered by the ship's cook who proceeds to throw her off the ship.

Afterwards, King Burns summons the hero to Estard Castle. Maribel witnesses this summons and tags along, telling him that she wanted to go shopping in the castle town. The two head to the castle town where she leaves him to talk to the king, telling him that she can find her way back home by herself.

When the Hero and Kiefer are about to unlock the secret of the Estard Ruins, Maribel finds them. She threatens them to take her along with them or else she will tell everyone about their secret. Faced with this dilemma, the two allow her to tag along as they finish exploring the ruins. When the Hero activates the Pedestal that leads to Rexwood, Maribel is shocked at the happenings. The three of them are transported to Rexwood.

For a detailed synopsis of Maribel's adventures, click on the Dragon Quest VII navigational tool.

After the party clears Probina, Loomin and Mardra, Maribel exclaims that she is tired. She decides to head to her house to rest. Before they leave the Ruins, they are encountered by an Estard soldier. He tells Maribel that her father, Amitt has taken ill. Maribel hurries home to see her father bedridden being attended to by the local priest and her mother. Maribel is in no position to adventure at this junction.

Revival of God
After the Hero, Gabo, Aira and King Burns are thrown off the Sky Stone, the island of Estard is sealed, they go to see Maribel. She asks the Hero if there is a seal on their continent. She realizes that the party needs her help to remove the seal. She joins the party.

For a detailed synopsis of the events after the Revival of God, click on Estard, Coastal, Engow, Dune, and Gorges.

End Game
When the Demon Lord is defeated, the party goes through the lands and they sing the praises of the heroes.

After several months, the Amitt Festival occurs. Maribel once again tries to stow away on the ship but is found out by the Hero. She starts to chew him out until she is caught by the Head Cook again. However, Borkano allows Maribel to come on the fishing voyage this time, to her delight.

Abilities
Maribel learns the following abilities naturally.
|No
|}

Strategy
Maribel is the weakest physical character. She will not be dealing high damage until she reaches Dharma Temple where she can change her class. She can, however, equip whips which deal successive damage to groups of enemies. Conversely, she has high intelligence which makes her better suited to magic classes like Mage and Cleric. It should be noted that this will make her more frail and so she should always be situated in the back row.

She can equip knives, staves and whips to attack and wear robes. Maribel should also be given items such as the Wonder Rock and the Bless Staff so she can be designated healer.

Maribel leaves the party after the events of Probina, Loomin and Mardra. Because of this, when the player gets her back in Disc 2, she is extremely frail. To assuage this, the player must remember to get her some weapons and armor from Coastal or the Sky Fane so that she isn't weak when she joins the party again.

Other Appearances
Dragon Quest IX
Maribel appears as a special guest at Quester's Rest as part of a Wifi downloadable update. She will present the Hero with various pieces of armor modeled after her outfit for meeting certain requirements.
*Several character's artwork depicts them wearing a variation of wayfarer's clothes:
**Alena is garbed in a yellow version with a blue cape
**Both Parry and Madchen have a child-sized version; the former with a tattered blue outfit, the latter with a well-tended lilac outfit

Lora's Cave is a dungeon in Dragon Quest II. It connects the northern continent containing Cannock and Middenhall to the central continent containing Moonbrooke in Torland.

Overview
The cave has 3 entrances, one from the south, one on an island, and one in the Shrine West of Cannock. Initially, the heroes are only able to enter the cave from the Shrine West of Cannock. Access to the cave is restricted until the Prince of Cannock has been added to the party.

The cave primarily serves as a connecting dungeon, similar to the Swamp Cave. The island entrance exists as a decoy exit when the heroes are traveling south towards Hamlin from the northern continent.

Name
The cave is named after Princess Lora of the first Dragon Quest. It is assumed that she and the hero from Dragon Quest traveled through the tunnel on the way to founding the kingdoms of Cannock and Middenhall.
