The grim keeper is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries that first appeared in Dragon Quest IV. It is a purple winged demon that wields a scythe as tall as itself.

Characteristics
Grim keepers are Demons with purple skin, moss green wings, a long pointy tail, and two pairs of golden curved horns on their heads. They have muscular bodies and their faces have simian features with a pair of large pointed ears and four digits on each of their limbs. Their faces and chests are the same color as their wings. They carry their wicked scythes in both of their hands.

The Grim keeper has gone on to make appearances in X, XI ( and Definitive Edition) as well as some of the spin-offs.

They share the same name as grim keeper from VI in both English and Japanese, but are otherwise different enemies entirely.
Harvest Loon, a grim keeper of the Plob's Big Three and the third boss of the game, is located in Callmigh Bluff. He gives Rocket a slime knight which the slime must use to do battle with him.

Harvest Loon's main means of attack is through small scythes, which can be reflected back towards him using the Slime Knight to deal damage. He will also swing his large scythe, as well as summon a group of Mean spirits that charge at Rocket. Harvest Loon will drop his scythe when defeated, which is an item Rocket can pick up.
The treeface is a recurring monster in the DQSeries, first appearing in Dragon Quest II. It is a tree that has come to life in order to attack adventurers.

Characteristics
A wicked parody of the traditional treant of Western fantasy, the treeface is a terrible tyrant of the timberlands that mimics surrounding forest biomes in order to ambush plucky adventurers. Brighter than their bark would imply, they use their own leaves to heal themselves when weakened, and are not above fleeing battle when their necks are on the chopping block. The trees are also known for performing peculiar dances in order to drain spellcasters of their magic power. Treefaces were once ordinary trees that came to life after absent-minded adventurers carved words into their wood.
Treefaces appeared from the beginning of the game. Like before, they are able to perform Weird Dance and heal themselves with Medicinal herbs and will flee when threatened. In Version 1.1 of the game, it gained a rarefied version in the form of antiquitree. Starting with Version 5.0, vicious treefaces can be encountered in the Netherworld. They no longer flee and continue to perform their Weird Dance, while they are now able to heal themselves with Special medicine.

DQDai
A treeface appears at the beginning of the story as one of the friendly monsters living alongside Dai and Brass on Dermline Island. In the 1991 anime, a trio of treefaces are called forth by Dai with the help of magic cylinders in the kingdom of Romos against the fake hero's party. They perform a Weird Dance on the mage Masopho to sap his magic power.
* In the 2020 anime, treefaces from the Dark Forest can be seen among the monsters attacking the kingdom of Romos led by Crocodine. They are part of the Furfang Legion.
A treeface named Bough Beater appears as the first boss of the game, found in Forewood Forest. He will attempt to damage Rocket with his arms. Once his HP is brought down to half, Bough Beater's color will change to closer resemble a Treevil and he will attack faster. Rocket may defeat him simply with Elasto Blasts.
The Gripevine is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries, first appearing in the original DQM.

This giant man-eating flower is one of the deadliest representatives of the Nature family.

Characteristics
The Gripevine is a large, looming carnivorous plant with a look similar to the real world infamous rafflesia flower of southeast Asia. Its beautiful body has a blooming bulb-like flower with a long lurching tongue and sharp serrated teeth, supported by a treacherous tangle of leafy vicious vines. It uses the two longer thorn-covered vines to lash at enemies, along with ferociously fetid fragrances that send foes to Sleep or stick them with vile venom. In its original appearances, the Gripevine had a purple and magenta coloration, but it borrowed the Malign vine's green and red color scheme for several games. Occasionally, the Gripevine has shifted back to its original coloration for certain titles.

Rumor has it that when the Gripevine reaches maturity, it will unfurl its bud and begin life anew as a Thornella.
The oaken club is a recurring weapon in the DQSeries. Highly crude, it is not very powerful and is often one of the first weapons found in a game.

Characteristics
The oaken club is a primitive weapon that appears to have been carved roughly out of a tree trunk and has cloth wrapped around the handle for ease of use. In the instruction manuals for the Famicom versions of the original Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest II, the oaken club was depicted as having numerous nails sticking out of it. They appear to be the favored weapons of many monsters, such as trolls and cyclopes.
Whenever it successfully lands a hit on an enemy, it restores the user's HP by one quarter of the damage dealt. Some players consider it to be more useful than the legendary swords because of this.

In any case, the miracle sword is hard to come by and is almost always the reward for donating a large amount of mini medals or an eye-wateringly small drop chance from powerful enemies.

DQ4
The miracle sword has an Attack bonus of +100. Can obtain them from the Medal King. In the remake of the game, they can also be purchased in the final stage of Pioneer Town.

One is also dropped by Barbatos upon his death.

The miracle sword has an Attack bonus of +100. It can be obtained from the Medal King after giving him 16 Mini medals in the original SFC version, and 23 Mini medals in the remakes.

Another one can be found in the Faerie Lea T'n'T board (only in the remakes). It can be sold for 7125 Gold and can be equipped by the Hero 5, Parry, Debora Briscoletti, and a few monster companions.

DQ6
The miracle sword has an Attack bonus of +100 and a Style bonus of +38, and is the reward for 40 Mini medals. It can be equipped by every character save Lizzie. The Überkilling machine will also drop the sword at a rate of 1/128.

DQ7
The miracle sword has an Attack bonus of +100 and an appearance bonus of +38. It can be equipped by The Hero 7, Kiefer, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe, and is the reward for 65 Mini medals.

DQ8
The miracle sword has an Attack bonus of +80 and is Princess Minnie's reward for 68 mini medals. It can be upgraded into an Über miracle sword or sold for 1,000 Gold. Eight and Angelo can equip it. In the version, a second copy of the sword can be found within Memories Lane.
Chimaera wings may be found in Mt. Krakatroda and the Flying Clawtress. They can be thrown at enemies, slimes, or other items in stages, and return what they touch back to Boingburg. Like other items, chimaera wings may be used as ammo during tank battles. When loaded into the cannons, they deal 8 damage to the opposing tank. Chimaera wings can be thrown at enemies during tank battles as well, sending them back to their tank.
The Schleiman Tank is the main monster tank of Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, used by the protagonist, Rocket. It first appears in the Tomb of the Tootinschleiman buried beneath a large sand castle, and awakens once Rocket blows the repaired Warrior Flute. The Schleiman tank enables Rocket to initiate tank battles with members of the Plob.

While in Boingburg, up to 30 items obtained in the game can be loaded into the Schleiman tank as ammunition. Once the stage Mt. Krakatroda is unlocked, the tank is able to carry up to three crew members to assist Rocket during tank battles. The Schleiman tank may also have its HP increased with the help of Slimechanic, in exchange for gold and, in some cases, specific items.
