The super sword of light is not the same blade as the [[Sword of Light]], which was a newly crafted weapon made in its image. This is the sword stored in the heart of [[Yggdrasil]] and later defiled by [[Mordegon]] into the sinister [[Sword of Shadows]] during the end of the first act. It remains in Mordegon's possession throughout the second act until he is killed in his [[Fortress of Fear]], where the [[Hero (Dragon Quest XI)|Luminary]] will reclaim it. As the sword of shadows it travels back in time with the Luminary to the end of the first act and is used to destroy [[Jasper]]'s impenetrable shield, disintegrating after the battle. The player then retrieves the pure sword and keeps it for the remainder of the game, where it is used to dispel the cloak of darkness shielding [[Calasmos]].

An excellent weapon for the Hero to use, it has a high damage boost and will cure any ailments that may trouble party members. It can be reliably used until you obtain the [[Supreme Sword of Light]] or any other sword with a higher damage output.

'''Erdwin's Tunic''' is an article of clothing that once belonged to the hero of legend, [[Erdwin]]. Though it appears to be a simple garment, it is indeed one of the most powerful armors in [[Erdrea]]. Wearing it alongside Erdwin's coronet gives the Luminary an extremely similar appearance to Erdwin, with the only differences being physical characteristics of the characters. The best armor the Hero can wear, it provides 20% damage reduction to all elemental attacks as well as having high defense. This makes the Hero an excellent tank for the party to rely on, especially if used with [[Erdwin's Shield]], potentially cutting the damage of elemental attacks by 45%. The tunic also provides 10 MP with each turn passed, allowing him to spam his most damaging abilities with little to no MP waste.
