Mitsukara: Sorry for making like 5 edits for minor formatting changes, I'm really bad at this. ^^'

This is not a significant character in Dragon Quest II. She is named (obviously) but does not play any part in the overall plot of the game. In other words, she is too insignificant to merit an article. --Pagoda 19:58, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

EVERY character, EVERY monster, EVERY spell should have an article. Even if it is a small character which a lot of characters are in Dragon Quest.--BigCubby 12:38, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

I agree about monsters and spells, but I think there has to be some sort of standard for characters. I have no problem saying that every 'named' character should have an article, or that every 'significant' character should have an article. The Princess of Cannock is neither. Can you be more clear what you define as a 'character'? --Pagoda 14:12, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

I am at a little mess up here because I have never played the game but just judging by the title of the article then I would say she is a little bit worth of an article just because of the "Princess" title. However I am not sure what the guidelines are or what it should be but the "Princess" part really makes me think she deserves an article. However I have never played the game, at least to this part.--BigCubby 14:19, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
:I had honestly forgotten that the Prince of Cannock had a sister and thought that this was just a typo or somethin'. While I suppose every character should get their due, it might be easier to just include the Princess of Cannock in the character list of the Dragon Quest II page and mention her in the Prince of Cannock's page, especially if she plays so little a role that she's nearly as remarkable as a town resident.--PantheonSasuke 15:02, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

Names
In the NES 'Dragon Warrior II' release, she is referred to as Princess Halla by the guard NPC outside of her room at Cannock: 'That is the chamber of Prince [name]'s sister, Princess Halla.' It would be good to include this information in the article somewhere in the future. I was hesitant to add it myself because I'm unsure of the formatting etiquette, though. --Mitsukara 19:56, September 23, 2025 (UTC)

Himiko is the Queen and ruler of Jipang (or Zipangu) in Dragon Warrior III. The character of Himiko is based on the real Himiko from Japanese history and legend.

By the time the hero arrives in Jipang, the real Himiko has been killed by the Orochi, who in disguise assumes the role of Himiko and orders the villagers to sacrifice young women to appease the Orochi.

In the remakes, Himiko can be found alive and well on the upper floor of Jipang's pachisi track, which can only be unlocked via a wish granted by defeating Divinegon after finishing the main game. She seems to be wandering around aimlessly and mentions that she's not quite sure what she's doing in such a place.

Baramos, known as the Demon Lord and the Arch Fiend, is one of the main villains of Dragon Warrior III. Throughout the first half of the game Baramos is believed to be the final boss; however, when he is defeated by the hero, who returns to Aliahan triumphant, Zoma interrupts the celebrations to reveal Baramos was just an underling of his, and announces his intentions to plunge the world into darkness, causing the hero to continue his quest.

In addition to the primary Baramos at work in Zoma's scheme, his inner circle includes at least two more versions of Baramos, Baramos Bomus and Baramos Gonus (the latter of which appears to be a skeletal form of Baramos). In the Dragon Quest III remakes, a common, repeated enemy in the first bonus dungeon is also a form of Baramos known as Baramevil. Whether the Baramevils were in Zoma's employ is not certain.

Hargon, Sorcerer of Rhone, is the primary villain in Enix's Dragon Warrior II. His minions attacked Moonbrooke Castle at the beginning of Dragon Warrior II, killing the king and destroying the palace.

Although defeating him appears to be the ultimate objective of the descendants of Erdrick from Midenhall, Cannock, and Moonbrooke, Hargon was in fact working to revive the God of Destruction, Malroth, whom they must destroy after defeating Hargon.

Hargon also appears in Dragon Warrior Monsters and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2.

Brecconary is a town found in Enix's Dragon Warrior. Located just east of Tantegel Castle, the town is one of the first places visited by the hero.

Armor and Weapons Shop
In the original Dragon Warrior, this shop, located to the immediate north of the town entrance, sells the following goods:
*Bamboo Pole (10 gold)
*Club (60 gold)
*Copper Sword (180 gold)
*Clothes (20 gold)
*Leather Armor (70 gold)
*Small Shield (90 gold)

Since the Hero comes here at the beginning of his quest, it is likely that he only has 120 gold to choose from the above items for his starting equipment, since he starts with no equipment.

In Dragon Warrior III, this selection differs:
*Dragon Killer (15000 gold)
*Power Knuckle (7100 gold, Remakes only)
*Angel Robe (3000 gold)
*Dragon Mail (9800 gold)
*Dragon Shield (3500 gold)
*Silver Shield (8800 gold)
*Mythril Helmet (18000 gold) (Remakes Only)

Dragon Warrior II shop info to be added.

Inns
The inn, located to the south of the entrance, costs 6 gold to sleep at.

In Dragon Warrior II, this inn also costs only 6 gold for the party to sleep at, though this is a reduced fare as this price is actually 2 gold per person.

In Dragon Warrior III, it costs 1 gold per person, which means the maximum price is only 4 gold.

Item Shops
The item shop, in the southeast, sells the following:
*Medical Herb (24 gold)
*Torch (8 gold)
*Dragon's Scale (20 gold)

Dragon Warrior II shop info to be added.

In Dragon Warrior III this shop sells:
*Medical Herb (8 gold)
*Antidote Herb (10 gold)
*Fairy Water (20 gold)
*Wing of the Wyvern (25 gold)
*Full Moon Herb (30 gold)
*Invisible Herb (300 gold, remake only)

Miscellaneous Services
In Dragon Warrior, a store in the north-east corner sells Fairy Water, which works like the Repel spell and wards off some enemies temporarily. Additionally, an old man lives in a house near the center of town who can lift curses.

In Dragon Warrior III, the Fairy Water store is instead a House of Healing.

Mitsukara:

Ortega was a famous Hero from Aliahan in Dragon Warrior III. He is shown in the intro movie fighting a dragon on top of a volcano, which ends with both of them falling in. This intro is further expanded in the SFC and GBC remakes, showing Ortega travelling the world on his quest before finally reaching the volcano and the fateful battle.

He was the father of the legendary Hero Erdrick. When Erdrick was just a baby, he left on a quest to destroy the archfiend Baramos. By Erdrick's 16th birthday, Ortega was believed to have fallen into the volcano and died, and so Erdrick set out to finish it.

After eventually traveling to Alefgard, Erdrick learned that Ortega had also fallen to Alefgard through the volcano, being severely injured and losing his memory along the way. It also appears Ortega made his way to Rimuldar and had taken on the quest of defeating Zoma, but it was believed he died trying to reach Zoma's castle. Upon reaching the end of Zoma's castle, however, Erdrick witnessed Ortega's final battle against the King Hydra, but Ortega was defeated before Erdrick's own eyes. After the fight Ortega, unable to see nor hear, regains his memory and with his dying breath tells Erdrick that he is Ortega of Aliahan and asks that if he ever travels there, to tell his wife and son what happened here and that he is sorry he failed, and that he couldn't be there for them.

Notes
In both remakes, if the Hero can reach the top of the Zenith Castle Tower and defeat Divinegon within the required amount of turns, Divinegon will grant the hero a wish of their choice. One of these wishes is to revive Ortega, whereupon Ortega will live with the Hero's mother in their home in Aliahan.

The remakes also added a helmet called Ortega's Helmet which could be obtained in Mour, where Ortega spent time recuperating after near death prior to his journey to the volcano. The helmet protects its wearer from all status ailments and is one of the strongest in the game, although there are a few with higher DEF power (such as the Great Helm and Mythril Helm).

It is highly possible, given the helmet's horned design, that this may be the Helmet of Erdrick seen in Dragon Quest II (and perhaps in Dragon Quest I, as the hero is seen wearing a helmet but the game has no equipment slot for any helmets, suggesting the Hero was already wearing a helmet he possessed from the start of his quest).

Mitsukara: Forgot to add the DWIII Places category at the bottom

In the remakes of Dragon Quest III from the Super Famicom and Gameboy Color, Zenith is a bonus dungeon that can be reached after completing the game. It is possible that this might be Zenithia from another time, as it alludes to it by name and general structure, but various details are different.

Location
Zenith is reached by stepping into the light of the stained glass windows at the Dragon Queen's palace in the normal world, although this only occurs if the player has already defeated Zoma and seen the ending, earning the "Roto" title on their save file on the loading screen.

The heroes will find themselves on a floating island surrounded by thick clouds. On this island is a deep cave, containing many rooms resembling those seen previously. Many fierce monsters populate this dungeon, including an alternate form of Baramos known as Baramevils. The final room of the dungeon is a monster arena, where the heroes fight inside the ring (unless they choose to walk past the enemy rather than fighting him).

After the dungeon the heroes find themselves in a castle, with four human-looking occupants including a human king. The King will tell them about God Dragon, or Divinegon, who lives atop a large tower above the castle. There is also a small house that the heroes pass through between the castle and the tower, where an old man stirs a large pot; he explains that this is a special medicine he's cooking. Whether the heroes decide to taste the medicine or not does not seem to affect gameplay, though it burns the hero's mouth to try.

The tower has even fiercer enemies, including a number of Ramias that attack the heroes and can cast Disperse to expel party members back to the pub in Aliahan. It also contains the most powerful weapon in the game, the Wrecking Flail. Upon reaching the top of the tower, there is an altar, above which resides Divinegon, a long green serpentine dragon resembling Shenlong of the Dragon Ball series. He challenges the heroes to a duel, and if they can defeat him within a certain number of turns (35 for the first, 25 for the second, and 15 for any later wishes) they will be granted a wish. These wishes include a new pachisi track, a personality-changing naughty book, and the revival of a certain character. In the gameboy version there is also a wish to receive certain unique monster medals, needed (along with the other medals, which are rare drop items from various monsters) in order to enter that version's second bonus dungeon.

Connections to other Dragon Quest games
Whether Divinegon is related to Master Dragon, whether the castle and tower are related to Zenithia (or Baron's Tower), and if so, when this takes place in relation to Dragon Quest IV, V, or VI is unclear. Dragon Quest VI, however, also features a human king of Zenithia, which may or may not be related.

The island seen at the beginning of the Zenith area, and the cave of familiar rooms within, also bears a physical resemblance to the first bonus dungeon in Dragon Warrior VII, which the heroes of that game travel through to meet God.
Zenithia, also called Zenith Castle or simply Zenith, is the name of a fictional sky castle from the videogame series Dragon Quest. The first appearance is in Dragon Warrior IV, and the castle is one of several elements from Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI which suggest the three games are linked as a trilogy; this group is often called the Tenku (Japanese for Heaven, or Sky), or the Tenkuu no Shiro (Castle in the Sky) trilogy.

Zenithia is one of the few locations in Square Enix's DS remake Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen to keep the name used in the original localization.
A castle in the Dragon Warrior III remakes for Super Famicom/Color is also called Zenith, though the layout differs from the castle from the Tenku series. It is unclear whether Zenith and Zenithia are one in the same or not.

Location
In Dragon Warrior IV, Zenithia can be accessed by climbing the Tower near Gottside, which goes as far up to the sky. It is directly above the entrance to the world of darkness.

In Dragon Quest V, Zenithia has fallen into a lake south of Elheaven. This happenned when the Golden Orb, half of a set of magical orbs that supported the castle in the sky, fell from its place. Once recovered and returned to Master Dragon, it will make Zenithia rise again. This time, the castle can move freely around the sky.

Zenith Castle is sealed away by Demon Lord Durran in Dragon Quest VI, and a giant hole is left behind in its place in the Dream World. It can be restored to its proper place by defeating Durran. After the Dream World returns to its natural state (it had been altered by Demon Lord Deathtamoor, Zenith Castle is the only part of it that can still be seen floating above the real world.

Legendary Equipment
There exists a set of legendary weapons and armor hailing from Zenithia.

Most commonly known as the Zenithian sword, armor, shield and helmet; only a hero of Zenithian descent can wear them. The entire set is required to be allowed entry into Zenithia in Dragon Warrior IV.

These are also known as the Celestial or Zenithian sword, armor, shield, and helmet in Dragon Quest V.

In Dragon Quest VI, the sword is called the Sword of Ramias, the armor is the Armor of Orgo, the shield is the Shield of Sufieda, and the helmet is the Helm of Cevas.

Square Enix has released the Celestial Sword (the Zenithian Sword) and Sword of Ramias as part of their Dragon Quest Legend Items series - miniature collectible toy replicas of artifacts from the Dragon Quest universe.

Inhabitants
An inhabitant of Zentihia is called a zenithian; notable zenithians appearing in Dragon Quest IV, V, or VI are:

* Lucia. She appears in the game Dragon Warrior IV, as a Zenithian who has fallen to the world below and was unable to return to Zenithia. The party meets her at the top of the World Tree.
* Master Dragon. The ruler of Zenithia in Dragon Warrior IV. He asks the party to defeat Necrosaro.
* Pusan. An enigmatic person who comes from the Castle of Zenithia. He appears in Dragon Quest V, and he may be more than he seems at first.
* King Zenith. The ruler of Zenith Castle in Dragon Quest VI. He is humanoid, unlike Master Dragon.
* Doran. A young dragon who is sent by Master Dragon to help the party in their fight against Necrosaro. He appears in Dragon Warrior IV.
* According to the games, at least once a woman from Zenithia has become involved in a relationship with a human, leaving offspring that is half-human, half-Zenithian.

Background music
* The theme for Zenithia was called "Unknown Castle" in the Japanese soundtrack for Dragon Warrior IV.
* Dragon Quest V's theme was called "Heaven".
* Dragon Quest VI does not have a special theme for Zenithia; instead it uses the regular castle theme, "At the Palace".

Mitsukara: Explanation and pictures for Zenith from Dragon Quest III

Ortega

Notes
In both remakes, if the Hero can reach the top of Zenith Castle and defeat Divinegon within the required amount of turns, Divinegon will grant the hero a wish of their choice.
