The Liquid Metal Slime (formerly Metal Babble, later Metabble due to display constraints) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest II, it is a metallic bubble slime that acts as a large source of experience points.

Characteristics
In terms of appearance, liquid metal slimes are essentially identical to bubble slimes, but are a slick silver in color and shine.

Liquid metal slimes have the standard qualities of metal monsters: high agility, high defense, immunity to essentially all forms of magic and skills, very low HP, very high experience payout, and the unfavorable habit of running away from battle frequently. Although a step up from the metal slime, the liquid metal slime is rarely shown to be competent at fighting, its only enhancements being its HP and the experience it gives when compared to metal slimes.
Dragon Quest III
A popular strategy for vanquishing the L.M.S. is to have your mage and priest cast Puff! and Accelerate on the first turn of the encounter, incinerating them automatically on the next turn. For warriors, the Spiked armour is handy to punish them for attacking directly and having a Falcon blade will give them twice as many chances to attack. A martial artist of a reasonably high level will have a great critical hit rate to rely upon as well.
Liquid metal slimes can be encountered shortly after the player obtains a ship. Exceptionally lucky and/or vigilant players may obtain a defeated liquid metal slime as an ally, one of the most potent monster partners that can be had in the game.

Exceptionally lucky and/or vigilant players may obtain a defeated liquid metal slime as an ally, one of the most potent monster partners that can be had in the game.

Dragon Quest V
Liquid metal slimes can be encountered shortly after the player obtains a ship. Though they remain an excellent source of experience points, they also have a habit of appearing alongside troublesome monsters such as hoodlums and hocus chimaeras. Exceptionally lucky and/or vigilant players may obtain a defeated liquid metal slime as an ally, one of the most potent monster partners that can be had in the game.

Hi! I started using this as a resource for a playthrough of all the Dragon Quest games (especially the early ones) and am fumbling my way through editing things when I notice a resource that I need is missing or in error. I doubt that I'll find much now. I've been playing Dragon Quest since the NES original release, but there I only ever finished DQ 1 and 4. My current playthrough has all been done on Android so far which finds me on 4 again and making solid progress. I'm really looking forward to DQ games that I've never played including the Steam release of the newest entry. Thanks for everyone who has contributed, this place is great.

Meena Mahabala (ミネア, Minea in Japanese, Nara in the NES localization) is a playable character from Dragon Quest IV.

Appearance and Personality
Meena is nearly the spitting image of Maya, her older sister. She dresses much more conservatively compared to her sister, though they wear identical headpieces. Meena carries a crystal ball with her everywhere, which she uses to tell fortunes. While she and her sister both have long purple hair, Meena does not have bangs/fringe.

Meena is an extremely reserved and quiet person, and very rational. This disposition leads her to often scold her sister for her poor judgement regarding their money, and her general laid-back demeanor. But, despite these stern traits, she is still a very kind person at heart, looking out for her sister when the two set out to avenge their father's murder, and charging only a minuscule amount of gold for her fortune-telling services.

Appearances
DQ4
Story
Chapter 4 begins with Maya and Meena performing at the town, Laissez Fayre, which is populated almost entirely by entertainers and tourists. They use their job as a cover and the town as a base to investigate the murder of their father, a prominent alchemist. Though they suspect his apprentice, Balzack, killed him in order to steal the Secret of Evolution, they have nothing to back up their claims, and keep them to themselves for the time being.

After following the trail through several towns across the entire country, they finally confronted the murderer at his castle. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, his true King arrives to soundly defeat them in battle and throws them into the dungeon. Luckily, the only other occupant points them to a secret exit, and after they escape, they flee directly to Endor.

In Chapter 5, Meena is attempting to continue her fortune-telling business, but Maya blows all the gold they'd earned on their journey at the Casino, leaving them fairly stranded in the city. Luckily, the Hero has been told to seek out his destined allies, and locates Maya and Meena in short order. When Meena reads his fortune, she realizes that he is the prophesied hero and immediately joins the party.

The two are briefly separated in Con Cave and are approached by demonic doppelgangers of The Hero (while The Hero also battled doppelgangers of the sisters). When coming across the real Hero, Meena is more trusting while Maya quizzed him/her. Afterwards, they regroup and find the Symbol of faith.

A while later in Chapter 5, the party confronts Balzack, at Castle Zamoksva. He has used an imperfect version of the Secret of Evolution to become Baalzack, but the party is still able to kill him, avenging the death of the sisters' father at long last.

Abilities
In the Dragon Quest III class system, Meena is a priest. As a spell caster, Meena possesses low Strength, Resilience, and HP, but high Wisdom, Luck, and MP, and many useful healing and buff spells. As the sole character with access to the vital Insulatle spell, she is a crucial ally against the Lord of the Underworld and other enemies that rely on breath weapons.
Silver Tarot Cards
One of Meena's most unique traits is her ability to read her Silver Tarot Cards during battle, with each drawn card causing a unique effect. The effects of the cards ignore any resistances a monster may normally have, save for bosses. If the player orders her to divine more than three times during a single battle, the Fool card will always be drawn. Also, Meena can use the cards outside of battle to read the player's fortune. This will not affect the game, but provides interesting dialogue from the Seer.

DQ9
Meena appears as one of the special guests at the Quester's Rest in Stornway. This could be obtained when the DQVC was available using Nintendo's Wi-Fi Channel. When spoken to, she gives the player different pieces of her outfit for fulfilling certain conditions.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End
Meena appears as one of the new playable characters in the second game. Her Coup-de-Grâce is Starfall, which summons a meteor shower to strike all her enemies. She uses her tarot cards as her weapon of choice.

*Justice: Casts Poof on all enemies and sends them flying into the blue.
*Devil: Casts Kasap on all foes.
*Death: Casts Whack on one enemy.
*Sun: Restores a moderate to large amount of health to all allies.
*Moon: Lowers the accuracy of all enemies.
*Strength: Casts Oomph on a random ally
*Star: Doubles the amount of experience and gold received after the current battle.
*Tower: Casts Zap on all enemies. Damage is calculated as Meena's level multiplied between 0.5 and 2.
*Fool: Casts Thwack on the entire party!

Names
Meena is known as Minea in the original Japanese and Nara in the NES localization. Her English name is the phonetic spelling for the Korean word for twin, Miena.

Trivia
*There are a pair of sisters in Greenthumb Gardens who are a reference to Meena and her sister Maya in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

Omgitsgene: /* Detail */

The sacred amulet (also Seal of Rubiss and Crest) is an item and accessory in Dragon Quest III.

Detail
Here known as the sacred amulet, the Emblem of Erdrick makes its canonical first appearance in this game, where it is given to the hero by Rubiss after rescuing her from the Tower West of Kol. The hero would pass this amulet down to his or her descendants as an emblem of heritage from the great hero Erdrick, though it has been lost prior to the start of Dragon Quest I. In Dragon Quest III, it serves a practical purpose in battle, acting like an infinite usage Dieamend and protecting the hero from the likes of whack, thwack and kamikazee. It also provides a +30 Luck bonus when equipped.
<center>A master of weapon-based combat, able to learn a variety of cutting-edge sword techniques --Description from Dragon Quest VII</center>
The Warrior (戦士, Senshi), or Soldier in earlier localizations, is a character class in the Dragon Quest series. Warriors typically have high HP, Strength, and Resilience stats, but low Agility. They also have no magical capability whatsoever. They are typically capable of equipping the heaviest weapons and armour available. The image of them wearing the Femiscyran mail is probably their best-known look.
Usefulness
After the events in Alltrades, the Warrior is a useful class to become because of the strength increase that it affords. Among the skills that the warrior learns, Hatchet Man is by far the most useful. Although it misses half the time, when it does connect, it is a critical hit, making short work of Metal Slimes. The Dragon Slash is also good for dragon bosses that the player encounters.

For hybrid skills, the two most useful ones are Sword Dance, which requires both a mature warrior and a mature Dancer, and Thief Hit, which requires a mature warrior and a mature Thief. Sword Dance attacks four times with 0.75 percent power, making useful for boss fights as it is like attack for 300 percent power. It is also the most cost effective skill in the game as it doesn't require any MP to use. Thief Hit is useful because it steals from enemies, making it a nice skill to have if the player is looking for a particular item. However, the chance of stealing is rather low.

Regarding evolution, the Warrior can combine the mastered Mage class and become an Armamentalist. The 'mentalist has access to some elemental slashes and the extremely powerful spell Kafrizzle. The Warrior can also combine the mastered Martial Artist class and become a Gladiator. The Gladiator has stronger attacks including Quad Hits. After the Gladiator class is mastered, the Gladiator can then become a Champion as long as the Paladin class is also mastered. The Champion has several powerful attacks culminating with Blade of Ultimate Power, a must for beating the final bosses in the game.

Dragon Quest IX
The Warrior Class is available at the start of the game and has the unique skillset 'Courage'. Warriors can also use skill points to learn Sword, Spear, Knife, and Shield skills. Their Coup-de-Grace is "Critical Claim," an attack that always lands a Critical Hit.
You are that classic character&hellip; The irrepressible clown&hellip;

When others are engaged in serious conversation, you are busy trying to think of ways to make them laugh&hellip;

When you see someone working away seriously at something, your first urge is to lift their spirits with a joke&hellip;

You are always making others laugh, and for this, you are well-loved&hellip;

But look within&hellip; Is this the real you? I think you know the answer&hellip;

Underneath it all, you are a delicate soul&hellip; Easily hurt, and quick to sadden&hellip;

So you wrap your true self up in the armour of japery for fear of being hurt&hellip;

One who uses humour to deflect attention from their true self&hellip; This perhaps describes you best&hellip;

But it cannot last forever&hellip;

As you grow older, your jokes will inevitably grow tired&hellip;

And one day, no one will be laughing any more&hellip;

When that day comes, you will yearn for years gone by&hellip;

But it will be too late&hellip; That is why you must learn to take things seriously&mdash;lest your whole life become a bad joke&hellip;
}}

In the Dragon Quest III remakes, clown is a personality that improves agility, wisdom, and luck growth, but reduces resilience growth.

At the start of the game, the hero becomes a clown by receiving the final test of character in the castle. Before leaving the test, the hero must tell the chancellor a king's orders must be obeyed, contradict the first answer and say the orders are not set in stone, contradict the second answer and say orders can't be ignored, and say that the hero is listening.

Other party members have a chance to be a clown when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.

Omgitsgene: I was as surprised as anyone when my Martial Artist was able to equip the Tempest Shield, but he can. Mobile version.

The Tempest shield (formerly Wind God Shield & Aeolus' shield) is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series. Engraved with the face of a furious god, it blows away whole swaths of enemies with the strength of Zephyrus himself.

While several guides state that the shield casts Poof on all enemies, the effect actually uses Whack's instant death element to check enemy resistance. The confusion comes from the fact that enemies blown away do not give experience or gold.

Appearances
Dragon Quest III
Appearing only in the remakes, the tempest shield increases defence by +35, and can be equipped by every vocation save Mages. It is found in the Romaria treasure vault.

Dragon Quest IV
The tempest shield has a defence bonus of +50. Found in Diabolic Hall, and equippable by Ragnar and the Hero

Dragon Quest V
The tempest shield has a defence bonus of +35, and cuts breath damage by 10. It can be equipped by the Hero, Parry, Sancho, and select monster recruits. It is sold in Gotha for 4700.

Dragon Quest VI
Grants +35 defence and +18 Style (with a bonus of +35 when equipped with the Sunderbolt sword), but has lost its elemental resistance from V. Can be equipped by the Hero, Carver, and Terry, and is found in the treasury of Castle Graceskull.

Dragon Quest VII
Increases defence by +32, and can be equipped by the Hero and Aishe.

Dragon Quest IX
Combining the attributes of Warriors and Magi, they have shifted from single-target specialists to capable crowd-controllers since their debut, and have gained a Musketeer motif in official illustrations.

Dragon Quest VI
Armamentalists gain strong spells and skills at the expense of most stats. A character needs to master both the Warrior and Mage vocations to become a Armamentalist. They are the only advanced vocation to feature no additional traits or special effects.
An armamentalist is a powerful proponent of the formidable Fource, they can can wield wands, bows and swords while also weakening enemies with a variety of status effects. However, they are not very good at directly damaging enemies and have subpar defenses. Their Coup-de-Grace is "Voice of Experience," which increases the EXP payout after battle by a random rate.

The Armamentalist's class-unique skill is Fource. The Fource skill tree provides many bonuses to health, defense, strength, and attack. You will also unlock different Fources, (i.e., Fire Fource, Funeral Fource, etc) that allow the Armamentalist to imbue other party members with elemental attributes, raising their elemental defense as well as allowing them to deal damage based on the corresponding element of the used. Multiple fource's can be used on a character at the same time (or on all of the party if you finished the lvl 40 class quest and keep the rewarded scroll in the Armamentalist's inventory).

Unlockable by completing the following quest quest 109 "Elementary Training" at Alltrades Abbey.
