<center>A master of monsters, able to commune with them, wield their abilities, and win their affection. --Description in Dragon Quest VII</center>

The Monster Master (魔物使い Mamono Tsukai) is a vocation in Dragon Quest VI and Dragon Quest VII. Also known as the Monster Masher (魔物ハンター, Mamono Hantā) in the seventh game, the class allows players to walk on the wild side and focuses on taming and making allies of monsters defeated in battle.

Description
The M.M. suffers considerable reductions to their strength, resilience, HP, and MP in all versions of VI, befitting a starting vocation characters are not meant to spend too long in. Various breath skills are learned through the profession, in addition to the Puff! spell upon mastery.

With the job's upgrade to an advanced vocation in VII, the reductions to the mentioned stats are much less harsh, and enjoys a substantial boost to wisdom on top of a minor raise to agility and style. The Sony PlayStation version keeps the breath skills from before, but the Nintendo 3DS remake adds several support spells to give the vocation more utility.

In X, the M.M. is much more physically robust than before, boasting the third highest strength and fourth highest HP of all vocations. This is balanced by having a pitiful agility and having the bar-none worst MP available. The breath abilities are put aside in favor of skills that support their monster ally.
Dragon Quest V
While the Hero of Dragon Quest V has attributes more akin to a physically stronger Priest, he is referred to in peripheral media as the legendary monster tamer and is the first protagonist in the series' history to be able to recruit monsters.

Dragon Quest VI
In the original version of VI, having a master in the party activates the chance that a monster will join you upon its defeat, however this function was dropped in the Nintendo DS remake in lieu of Slime Buddies. Monster Master is one of the prerequisites for the Ranger vocation (along with Merchant and Thief).
In VII the vocation will instead give players a greater chance to send defeated monsters off to the Haven, a wildlife preserve of sorts where monsters can interact with the party as NPCs. To become a Master, characters need to master the Thief and Shepherd vocations.

Appearance-wise, the costume of the Master looks the same for both genders, with a green cape, a purple sash tied about the waist like a belt and magenta pants, but the Hero is shirtless and has yellow gloves and boots.
The monster master was originally planned to be a playable vocation in IX, but this was scrapped at some point in development. The conceptual art depicts a boy wearing an outfit consisting entirely of animal hides and holding a gnarled staff.

DQ10
The M.M. wields Claws, Whips, and Axes in battle, ans possesses the exclusive skill tree of Monster Mastery (rough translation). This skill set focuses on:
*Improving the chance for a slain monster to join the party
*かわいがる--Raising the monster's non-HP/MP stats by 20% for thirty seconds
*ブレスクラッシュ--Sealing an enemy's breath attacks
*HPリンク--Sharing HP with a monster (prevents death until user's HP is exhausted)
*MPリンク--Sharing MP with a monster (user MP acts as a reserve for monsters)
*エモノ呼び--Summons a monster of the same family as the target for an extra ally

Monsters series
Generally speaking, the protagonist of every game in the Monsters sub series is an M.M.
Certain titles will place more emphasis on this profession than others, such as treating it as a societal class in it's own right.

Dragon Quest Monsters+
The basis of the manga is an exploration of what it really means to be a master of monsters, focusing on the bonds a tamer makes with their companions and how this strengthens the beasts will to fight.

Etymology
The vocation's nomenclature was changed from 魔物使い to 魔物マスター in the DS remake of VI. The reason for this is presumably due to the removal of catchable monsters for slime buddies, and the original name was restored for the reintroduction of the class in DQX's version 2.00 update.

*Monster recruitment

Trivia
*The name "Monster Master" is a title used for both the Hero in Dragon Quest V and Psaro in Dragon Quest IV.
*The vocation's design is based directly on the Hero of V, wearing tattered rags with capes instead of normal clothing. This was changed slightly in X, where the cape was exchanged for an animal hide.
*The vocation has received the most name changes of any job in the original Japanese versions.
The Kran Spinels is a key item in Dragon Quest VIII.

Story
start
The Hero and his party are assigned to retrieve the Kran Spinels for Dominico in order to create a defensive spell again Evil Jessica. The first lead is Rydon at his tower by his own son.

Upon getting to the top to question Rydon, he informs the party that he no longer has them in as they were put into a statue by Alexandria Kranbartle.

Recalling the previous visit to the Tower of Alexandria, The Hero and company climb to the top and receive them from Alexandra's spirit in order to save Jessica from her predicament.

Incidentally, Yangus despite his background as a thief expressed unfamiliarity with the jewels, while Red was possibly aware of them due to her magazine Family Jewels mentioning them.

When Xiphos the Deathbringer returns, he covers a massive portion of the Galantyne Glades in lava, forming the Red Sea which is designed to block access to the Deathbringer's Citadel where he is currently making his careful moves. However, the Hero Swords draws Rednusadner and uses its magic to part the lava, creating a narrow path through which the party is able to travel.

Somehow, this path is immediately infested with monsters, implying they either swarmed in incredibly quickly or are capable of surviving in pure, molten lava.

After traveling the entire length of the Red Sea, the party arrives at the gate of the castle, where they must battle Golok the Gatekeeper.
<center>This article is about the region, for the town see Angel Falls.</center>
Angel Falls is a region in Dragon Quest IX. It is named for the nearby town of the same name. The region contains several notable landmarks including: slime hill, The Hexagon, and the crash site of the Starflight Express.

Synopsis
The Angel Falls region is featured heavily in the early part of the game along with the town of the same name. There are several specific locations of note.

The Hexagon
The Hexagon is the first dungeon visited in the game. It used to serve as a passageway between Stornway and Angel Falls. However, it has now fallen into disrepair. The hero must enter it and rescue Patty.

Mountain pass
The mountain pass area of the region features a rock slide during the early portion of the game. The hero and Ivor visit this area and talk to the Stornway soldiers behind the rock wall. This is also the location of the Starflight Express after it crashed.

After completing some tasks, the hero returns to this location with Stella to fly the train back to the Observatory. This is when they encounter the spirit of Serena for the first time as she searches for Corvus.

Slime hill
This area is only accessible during the post game. It features all different varieties of slime monsters. It is an excellent location for building levels against the metal varieties of slimes.

Retrieval
The orb can only be retrieved at night when Tedanki's villagers are visible. It is held by a prisoner within a cell in the northern part of town. The prisoner is only accessible via the Final Key. The King's crown (formerly known as Crown and Golden Crown) is a helmet item in Dragon Quest III. It is received after defeating Robbin' 'Ood in the Skyfell Tower.

Theft
The crown originally belonged to the king of Romaria. At some point, Robbin' 'Ood and his henchmen stole the crown and went to the Skyfell Tower. No details are ever given regarding how or why the crown was stolen.

Return
After tracking down Robbin' 'Ood and his henchmen in the tower and defeating him, he will leave the crown behind before escaping. The crown can then be returned to Romaria where the hero can temporarily become the king. However, in order to proceed in the game, the hero must talk to the previous king again and give up the throne. The crown is not recoverable after speaking with the king of Romaria after defeating Robbin' 'Ood.

* The crown can be skipped altogether by simply leaving it in the Skyfell Tower after Robbin' 'Ood escapes.
* To keep the crown, the heroes cannot return to the king of Romaria. In the original games, they can revisit only after putting the crown into the Bank.
* The crown functions as a normal helmet. In the original NES version, it is the best helmet available for a Mage, making it appealing to keep.
The Prisim Peacock is a monster class available in the game Dragon Quest VII.

Description
The Prism peacock is an anthropomorphic bird monster. This class offers boosts in most categories and drops in none. At rank 8 characters will become immune to Crack and Poof, highly resistant to Sizz, Bang, Zap, Snooze, Fizzle, Drain Magic, Dazzle, poison, and paralysis, and partially resistant to Woosh, Sap, and Fuddle.

Requirements
In order to become a Prism Peacock, a character must first master both the Gripevine and SkyDevil classes. A Prism Peacock heart can be purchased from the Grand Slum casino for 100,000 tokens. Finally, it can be obtained in battle by defeating Peacocks in battle in the Cathedral of Blight.
