Just like all games in the series, the world of ''Dragon Quest VIII'' is surrounded by oceans. The Hero and his party first travel the ocean between [[Port Prospect]] and [[Peregrin Quay]]. They later gain access to the rest of the ocean after enlisting help from [[Ishmahri]] to revive the Ancient [[Ship]].
