With the fire element being added to the [[Flametang boomerang]] in the ninth game, the Black Buzzard fills the gap of a non-elemental boomerang to be relied upon until the [[Metal wing boomerang]] is acquired.

The Black Buzzard was a part of a timed DLC distribution event for the {{3DS}} port of the game. It increased {{Attack}} by +71, could be sold for 30,000 [[Gold]] Coins, and required a character to be at level 30 or higher to wield.

The boomerang increases {{Attack}} by +51, deals an extra 10% damage to [[Bug family|insects]], and the user must be at level 50.

Buzzard is a collective term for any bird in the genus ''Buteo'', and in American English is also describes members of the ''Cathartidae'' family (vultures)
*The Japanese name for the weapon, ''Black Condor'' is also the name of a main character in [[wikipedia:Chōjin Sentai Jetman| Chōjin Sentai Jetman]]. This would not be the first time Dragon Quest referenced the super sentai series, as the [[Ranger]]'s accolades in the Japanese version of ''VI'' followed the naming pattern of the show.
