			Simão was a citizen of [[Manoza]] who was charged with treason by the [[Boss troll\|false King of Manoza]] a decade before the events of the game. He was sentenced to imprisonment in the [[Shrine of Shackles]], where he would meet his end. His spirit lingers on within the prison and tells the {{Hero 3}} to find the sword next to his remains.

			[[Son of Simão\|Simão's son]] remains in Manoza and warns the Hero that the King is not to be trusted. He is aware that his father was imprisoned, but does not know that he has passed on.

			Simão's role in the story has been expanded, revealing him to have been an ally and travelling companion of [[Ortega]]. The two are shown meeting in a duel where they compliment one another's skills and elect to form a two-man party. When speaking to Simão's ghost in the Shrine of Shackles he wonders what has become of his son and Ortega, with his regret binding him to the prison and preventing him from departing to the afterlife. A flashback shows that he was the one to suggest that the duo separate for a time so he could investigate the dark rumors surrounding Manoza, but due to his imprisonment Simão was unable to fulfill his promise to reunite with Ortega, forcing the man to brave the fires of [[Mt. Necrogond]] alone.

			Simão mistakes the Hero for Ortega and instructs the player to hurl the mountaincleaver into the volcano. During the ending he is shown watching over the real King of Manoza holding an audience with his son as an unseen phantom.
