The bellies of this brazen bird-beast form a fierce face-like pattern when paired with the eye-like markings across their breast, making it almost seem like the mouth is moving whenever they boisterously bounce around. In battle their almost as goofy as they look, belly flopping on to foes as their only real method of attack. They can cast '''Fuddle''' in an attempt to confuse all foes, but they're never strong enough to have enough magic strength to be able to properly summon the spell. Their one saving grace is the ability to overwhelm adventurers with sheer numbers by calling for their fellow bumbling penguins to aid them in battle.

The Pogoin' penguin is a recurring monster in the series, introduced in Dragon Quest VII. It can be found in the flooded Wetlock region in the past, the Sunken Citadel in the past, the Buccanham region in the past, and the Coral Cave in both the past and present.
