Olivia is a posthumous, non-player character in Dragon Quest III.
Story
Olivia threw herself off a cliff to her death near the cliffside that now bears her name when she learned that her lover Eric would never return from his oceanic voyage.
Olivia's Curse
The spirit of Olivia keeps ships from passing the promontory and entering the Shrine of Shackles as all sea vessels remind her that Eric was taken from her at sea. Her spirit can only be put to rest by using the Locket of Love after being held back by the curse, and doing so will free Eric's soul from the Phantom Ship and allow him to rejoin his beloved at last. The two lost souls embrace and ascend to the heavens.
