Singh (シンイ Shin'i) is a character from the tenth installment Dragon Quest video game: Dragon Quest X. He lives in the church of Eteene with his grandmother, lady Abba and joins the party in the offline campaign.

Appearance

Singh is a fit young boy. It seems that he has vision problems because he uses a pair of round yellow glasses. His attire consists of a white tunic that needs to be adjusted by a blue cloth (like a belt). Over that, he wears a red cloak. In his hands, he has leather mittens and uses a pair of greek sandals with metal reinforcements. At the head, he uses a helm with a pair of wings at each side. He also carries a shoulder strap bag (possibly leather) and in combat is seen to wield an Oaken staff.

Personality

Singh is a polite and respectful boy. However he tends to overthink the problems that affect him and all the people that surround him, making him to lose hope really soon, however he tries to do the best for the sake of others. He also is really loyal to the people he loves even if they badmouth of him at his face, making him a little naïve.

In Dragon Quest X

Offline tutorial and Prologue

The first time the hero sees Singh, he is inside his room at the Eteene church and he asks for the hero to help him make a gift as a compensation to Lady Abba for the actions of the hero's sibling.

When he obtains the materials he asked the hero for, he crafts a pillow and then he and the hero give it to Lady Abba. In her room, Singh gives her the pillow and he explains the mischief caused by the hero's sibling. He is called useless by Abba, and then he and the hero leave Lady Abba's room so she can be alone.

When the hero found where his sibling had been, Singh waited for them to return in the church and then led them again into the bedroom of his grandmother only to discover that lady Abba had taken a nap and was doing pirouettes in the air. He then went outside to learn that Abba had summoned all the villagers in front of the building to tell them about the imminent destruction of the village and its inhabitants. She chose the hero and his sibling to go and obtain a magic flower, called a Tensu flower, in a nearby cave that could change the destiny of the village. However, while selecting a third member of the group, a villager discovered that a ornery onion had somehow snuck into town, and Singh proceeded to destroy the monster with a fire spell. Singh decided to go to to the cave with the hero and their sibling.

When the party entered the cave where the Tensu flowers were, he expressed his fears and this gave the hero's sibling feelings of doubt. In the different chambers of the cave, he explained to the siblings the meanings of the numerous strange carvings on the walls. Finally, they arrived to the door leading to the chamber where the Tensu flowers grew, and explained that only one person in the village would be able to be saved with a Tensu flower.

Inside the room, they encountered a demon named Bedora that tried to destroy the flowers so that they couldn't save the town, and the party engaged him in battle. They emerged victorious, but in a last ditch effort, Bedora let loose a final attack that destroyed all of the flowers before fading away. Fortunately, the hero's sibling was able to find one flower that had survived the attack, and Singh plucked the flower. They left the cave and quickly travelled back to Eteene.

When they returned to the village they found it to be under siege by hordes of demons, and found most of the villagers to be dead or grievously injured. Aiding a female villager, Singh realized that a giant ball of fire was headed straight for the hero's sibling. Using a mysterious spell, the hero enveloped their sibling in a ball of light where they were whisked away. After this occurs, he runs to the church to see if his grandmother is safe. Moments later, the church is destroyed. His status is unknown, however it is implied that he must have died with the destruction of the church.
