The '''Khalamari kid''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in ''[[Dragon Quest VIII]]''. It is the infant form of the giant [[Khalamari]].
==Characteristics==
Khalamari kids are small squids with smiling faces. Their mantles and fins are pink while the rest of their body and tentacles are a light shade of yellow. They wield a conch shell in their tentacles like a club, but are more likely to spend their turns doodling in the sand instead of clobbering enemies with them. The cephalopods also have a tendency to be called away by their parents in the middle of battle, as well. They share a close relationship with [[King kelp]]s, often being called by them to serve as the audience for their songs.
