The '''Magic shield''' is a recurring shield in the {{DQSeries}}. It is designed to guard against harmful magic and elemental damage, hence the whimsical design.

 

 

 

*The second is まほうのたて ''mahō no tate'' (Japanese for "magic Shield"), which first appeared in {{Dragon Quest VI}} before showing up in all main series installments that followed (as well as the remakes of {{Dragon Quest III}}), as well as some spin-offs.

The instruction manual for the Magic shield, [[List of fun-size forge recipe book locations in Dragon Quest XI|That's Magic]], is the reward for quest #26, A Cold Crush. The quest is given by a man in the [[Sniflheim]] bar, and is resolved by finding a Snærose in the southernmost point of the [[Snærfelt]].

The Magic shield increases {{Defence}} by +24 and reduces fire and ice damage. The recipe is learned at level 29 and can be crafted 1 [[Steel shield]] and 3 Magic crystals at a Wizard's workbench.
