It is named for its founder, [[Galen]] who traveled the kingdom as a [[Troubadour|bard]] of high renown, and owned the [[Lyre of Ire]]. It was preceded by [[Galen's House]], which was present during the events of ''[[Dragon Quest III]]''. It does not appear in ''[[Dragon Quest II]]'' along with many other locations in Alefgard. Being located in the north, its climate is very cold, sometimes even freezing.
