NoPrgress was a rom-hacker/translator who nearly completed an unofficial translation of Dragon Quest VI into English.
NoPrgress' translation patch of Dragon Quest VI into English is at 90%; it is not believed that any further work will be done by him on the translation; however, it is fully playable. Some bugs have been reported, primarily a sometimes fatal backing out of the info>all menu. NoPrgress' script mostly follows Dragon Warrior conventions and is believed to be well edited.
