Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road is an arcade game based on Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King released in 2007, only in Japan. It spawned several games in a series.

Players battle monsters and can win real-life cards with monster data imprinted on them. As of November 7, 2008, Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road has contributed between 1.6 and 1.7 billion ¥ in earnings for Square Enix.

The sequel, Monster Battle Road II also got positive reviews, and ended circulation on September 30th, 2010.

In Japan, a Monster Battle Road game for the Wii, subtitled Victory, was released for those who wanted to continue playing.
