Mist Me is an ability in the Dragon Quest series. It sets up a fog that allows the user to either dodge or absorb the next attack, with the exact properties varying between titles

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

This ability is learned with 55 skill points allocated into the Ranger's Ruggedness skillset. Mist Me covers every type of attack that can be blocked with a shield, and costs 5 MP to perform.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Mist Me is learned by placing 68 points into the Ruggedness skillset as before, only now the ability cancels out all damage from Breath attacks once and applies to all members of the party. This makes Mist Me a direct upgrade to the Backdraft skill of older games.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]

Mist Me can be learned from various skill trees.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]

Mist Me can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though Über Healer now requires 64 points.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]

Mist Me costs 10 MP and will only work for the first attack against multi-strike abilities. Monsters can learn Mist Me via the Altruist, Antimagician, Aquapothecary, Barricade, Breath Taker, Healer, Mouth Guard, Protector, Rainmaker, Soothesayer, Supreme Healer, and Super Naturalist talents.

Origins[edit]

Mist me is based on the traditional ninja technique of using a smoke bomb to escape pursuing foes in close proximity.
