Lullab-Eye is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. The user's eyes gleam eerily to put a party member to sleep. It is mainly used by bosses and in many games, there is typically no way to resist its hypnotic effects.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
In remake versions of the game, Lullab-Eye can be used by Xenlon, as well as Gran Dragon in the GBC version. The effect lasts between 1~4 turns.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]
Appearing only in the remakes, Lullab-Eye is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Testudogres, as well as Aamon's ultimate form. The effect lasts for 2~4 turns.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]
Lullab-Eye makes its first appearance in the series as an enemy-only skill that can be used by the bosses Second Test, Murdaw during the third battle against him, Mortamor's third form, and Nokturnus. It puts a party member to sleep for 1~4 turns.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
Lullab-Eye is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Eyesaur, Hideous eyesaur, Testudogre, Orgodemir in his first form when faced at the Malign Shrine and his second form during the final battle, as well as the Almighty. Lullab-Eye can be used by Dhoulmagus during the first phase of the battle, along with his clones, Rhapthorne during the first battle in the Black Citadel and the second phase of the final battle, Dhoulmagus in Memoriam, as well as the Silver dragon and the Darksteel dragon. A character will be put to sleep even if they are wearing a Ring of awakening or a Catholicon ring.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]
Lullab-Eye can be used by Boa bishops, Godsteeds, Corvus in his second form, Fowleye, and the Legacy bosses Mortamor, Nokturnus, and Rhapthorne from level 5 onward. Once again, the ability ignores any equipment that protects against sleep like the Rousing ring, but it is possible to become immune to its effects with either Knight Watch or Soul Asylum.
