Cool Breath is a breath attack in the Dragon Quest series. It emits a chilly breath attack on all enemies that deals minor ice damage.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

In remake versions of the game, Cool Breath can be used by Boreal serpents, Imps, Minidemons, Freezing fogs, and Firn fiends and deals between 9~20 damage to the entire party.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Sparkie will sometimes use this skill in battle. It can also be used by Imps, Minidemons, Devilfish, Powie yowies, Chillanodons Hellspawns, and Balzack's second form, and deals 9~13 damage.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Cool Breath is learned by monster companions such as the Chimaera and deals 13~16 damage On the enemy side, it can be used by Brrrattling snakes, Cross eyes, and the Winter Queen.

Other characters can obtain this technique by advancing to rank 2 of the Dragon vocation or rank 5 of the Monster Master vocation. Cool Breath is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Chillanodon, Jarvis, and Miasmas. It deals between 18~20 ice damage.

Dragon Quest Monsters

Known as FrigidAir in this game, it requires a monster to reach Level 3 with 21 HP. It grows into IceAir when the monster reaches Level 10 with 70 HP. It is naturally learned by the Akubar, BigEye, Blizzardy, Darkdrium, Demonite, Divinegon, EvilBeast, EvilWand, Gismo, GreatDrak, IceMan, KingLeo, Mudou, Shadow, Sidoh, Skullgon, Wyvern and Zoma.

Cool Breath is a monster skill that can be learned by Sizzard and Freezing fog. It deals 5 damage and has a chance to freeze the enemy for one turn. It can also be used to extinguish fire pillars in the Secret Passage dungeon.

Dragon Quest Tact

Cool Breath is known naturally by Aggrosculpture, Dragon slime, Freezing fog, Imp, Jade dragon, Quayhorse, Powie yowie, Silhouette, Skelegon, and Sculptrice at Level 1. It costs 9 MP to use and inflicts minor Crack-type breath damage to any enemies in a range of three squares in front of the user. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll. Cool Breath scrolls can be received by completing Bubble slime Road 4, Green dragon Road 2, and Skelegon Road 4, as well as purchasable from the Event Shop during the Dragon Quest IV event up to 3 times for 750 medals each.
