Shining Shot is a recurring bow skill in the Dragon Quest series. It launches a volley of Light-infused arrows at a group of enemies that ignores the enemy's defence.

Appearances

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Shining Shot can be learned by allocating 88 points into Angelo's Bows skill. The skill hits all enemies for 116~125 points of Bang-type damage.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Shining Shot can be used by any character that has the 'Archery for the Adept' (quest #84) item in their inventory and is equipped with a Bow. This technique strikes all enemies in battle for 145~155 points of damage, and deals light-element damage.

Dragon Quest X

Shining Shot can be learned by Rangers, Armamentalists, Sages, Death Masters, and Pirates by allocating 120 points into the Bows skill. It costs 4 MP to use, has a charge time of 60 seconds, and randomly deals 75% potency light-element damage six times to an enemy and its surroundings. The skill has a maximum range of 15 meters.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

In this game, Shining Shot is an enemy-only skill that can be used by crimson killing machines. It randomly deals light-element damage six times to the entire party.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional

Shining Shot costs 24 MP and fires a volley of 4~12 arrows at 25% attack power with a damage cap of 250 per missile. Each arrow is composed of Frizz/Sizz and Zap, utilizing the least-resisted element for damage calculation.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D

Shining Shot now costs 50 MP and it's strength per shot has been lowered to 19%, with the cap per arrow being 125.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

Shining Shot now uses the Bang and Light elements, but otherwise remains unchanged.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Shining Shot costs a staggering 100 MP and launches 4~12 arrows at 19% attack power per shot, with the limit being 125. Due to all dual-elemental abilities being abolished, Shining Shot uses only the Light-element. It is not affected by the Collective Punishment trait, and is learned through the Bobby Dazzler, Cupid, Hardliner, Heavenly Herald, Just Ruler, Pop Idol, Ramia, and Warmonger talents.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light

Dragon Quest: Monster Parade

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End

Angelo uses Shining Shot as his level 1 skill, and it shoots a continuous stream of arrows at a selected target for 12 MP.

Dragon Quest Rivals

Dragon Quest Walk

Dragon Quest Tact

Shining Shot can be learned by Angelo at level 56 and costs 63 MP to cast. It has a range of three squares in any direction away from him and inflicts 37% Bang-type physical damage to a single enemy 8 times. Upgrading the spell increases its damage and reduces the MP it costs to cast.
