"You are one of life's strugglers…
You may seem quietly competent to others, but unbeknown to them, your life is a constant battle…
And though you devote yourself tirelessly to the things you love, you have no time for those you do not…
If you learn to strive even at the things you do not enjoy, perhaps there you will find your strength…"

In the Dragon Quest III remakes, drudge is a personality that improves strength and resilience growth, but reduces agility and luck growth.
At the start of the game, the hero becomes a drudge by receiving the final test of character in the forest. Before leaving the test, the hero must push at least 21 boulders to the old man, but no more than 39.
Other party members have a chance to be a drudge when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character cannot become a drudge through items.
