Effect | If a character holds this in their inventory and are targeted by an instant death magic spell, this stone will take the spell in their stead, and shatter afterwards. |
Dieamends are special stones that will absorb instant death magic for the user and debuted in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.
If a character is targeted by Whack or Thwack and possess this stone in their inventory, the stone will take the instant death spell in place of the user, and shatters afterward.
Note that in the Japanese version of Dragon Quest IX, an item with the Japanese name for this item appeared (命の石 inochi no ishi Life Stone), but in the English version of that game it was localized as Resurrock. This was probably done because in Dragon Quest IX, it is merely an alchemy ingredient in that game and has none of the instant death preventing properties it has in other games.
