Necrosaro (known as Psaro and later Psaro the Manslayer in the DS remake Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen) is the main antagonist and final boss of Dragon Warrior IV. He is mentioned in every chapter, and his actions drive much of the game's plot. Originally known as Saro, he became Necrosaro during his rise to evil, where he attempted to kill the hero, seeking the secret of evolution and to find and resurrect Esturk, the ruler of evil.
Role in Dragon Warrior IV
Chapter 1
Necrosaro is behind the kidnapping of the children of Izmit, and Ragnar fights Saro's Shadow as a final boss to this chapter.
Chapter 2
Necrosaro is the top contender in the Tournament of Endor, having defeated five combatants in succession, when Alena and her party arrives. But after Alena defeats five fighters as well, he is nowhere to be found and Alena is declared the champion of the tournament. It is presumed that he went after the Golden Bracelet which Alena gave up to save May, the fake princess, in Frenor.
Chapter 3
When Taloon arrives in Endor, the tournament and Necrosaro are mentioned by several townspeople.
