The bronze knife is a recurring knife in the Dragon Quest series. It is a simple weapon found early in the game, typically designed for characters who cannot wield heavier weapons.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III

The bronze knife has an attack bonus of +8. It can be equipped by Mages, Thieves, and Gadabouts. It only appears in remake versions of the game. It can be bought for 80 gold and sold for 60 gold.

Dragon Quest V

The bronze knife has an attack bonus of +12. It can be bought for 150 gold. Bianca, Nera, the Hero's daughter, and Harry can equip it.

Dragon Quest VI

The bronze knife has an attack bonus of +12 and a style bonus of +8. It cannot be bought, but it can be sold for 112 gold. Milly, Ashlynn, Nevan, and Goowain can equip it.

Dragon Quest VII

The bronze knife has an attack bonus of +9 and a style bonus of +8. It can be equipped by Maribel, Ruff, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It cannot be purchased in any stores, but it can be sold for 75 gold. One is found in the tower east of Ballymolloy and another in Faraday Castle. Bronze knives can also be won from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.

Dragon Quest VIII

The bronze knife has an attack bonus of +9. It can only be equipped by Jessica in the PS2 version as well as Red in the 3DS port. It can be bought for 150 gold in Peregrin Quay or sold for 75 gold. Shadows will drop it normally.

Dragon Quest IX

The bronze knife is the second weakest knife in the game, and can be alchemized into the Divine dagger when combined with three bottles of Holy water. It has an attack bonus of +10 and a style bonus of +12. Warriors, Mages, and Thieves can equip them.
