A medicinal herb (herb, medical herb) is a healing item in the Dragon Quest series. It typically heals a low amount of hit points for a single character. It can be found in all item shops in Dragon Quest. In games with alchemy, it often used to manufacture more powerful healing herbs.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation
Medicinal herbs can be purchased for 8 gold coins and sold for 5 (6 in the Game Boy Color version.) It restores around 30 HP.
It can also be used to inflict damage on Zoma after he is weakened.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Medicinal herbs can be purchased for 8 gold coins and sold for 6. It restores around 30 HP.
Tessie will sell medicinal herbs at Torneko's shop for 12 gold coins.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
Medicinal herbs can be purchased from most item shops for 8 gold and sold for 6 gold. They restore around 35 HP per use.[1]
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Medicinal herbs can be purchased for 8 gold coins and sold for 4. It restores around 30 HP.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Medicinal herbs can be purchased for 8 gold coins and sold for 4. They restore around 30 HP.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below
Medicinal herbs will restore around 30 HP to whichever character the player is controlling. Rather than appearing as usable items, medicinal herbs appear as stage powerups that can be dropped by various monsters or found in smashed pots or barrels. Since they do not carry over between levels, they should be used as needed.
