The Cat suit is a costume that first appeared in Dragon Quest III. It doesn't possess any notable attributes aside from changing the wearer's appearance to a cat.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
The cat suit has a defense bonus of +15 in the original version of the game, but it was increased to an impressive +35 in all remake versions of the game. When equipped, it also changes that character's appearance to a humanoid, bipedal cat on the overworld, though this is purely superficial and provides no bonuses in battle. One can be found in a treasure chest in Manoza Cave. It is also occasionally dropped by Vampire cats (1/256 chance) and Catulas (1/128 chance).
It can be equipped by all vocations, and sold for 262 gold coins.
Dragon Quest XI
The cat suit raises resistance to certain elemental attacks. It can only be equipped by Veronica, and it changes her appearance when she wears it with the cat hood. The cat suit can be purchased from the two competing merchants in Gondolia. They will initially offer it for an exorbitant price, but if the player continually goes back and forth between them and haggles down the price, they will make the outfit easily affordable.
Although the merchants stop selling the cat suit after the events of the first act, you cannot permanently miss it; it can thereafter be purchased at the Gondolia armor shop.
