Gryphus (ホークル, Hōkuru) is an infamous monster available in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. He can form the team Avian Attackers along with any two monsters of the Bird family.

Location

The Gryphon General (魔空の王者ホークル, Makū no Ōja Hōkuru can be found in the Western Argonia region on a hill close to the Peddler's Tent that can only be reached by air. He will only appear during the day after beating the game once.
