Kasizz is a spell first introduced in the Monsters: Joker sub-series. As with the other Sizz spells, it roasts a group of enemies in roaring flames. It is related to the spells Sizz, Sizzle, and Kasizzle.

Localization History

Begiragon had previously been localized as Kasizzle until Joker 2, with the localized name being passed on to Giragrade and the former being redubbed as Kasizz. In other words, the Japanese games received new fourth-tier spells with new names, while the English localizations repurposed the names of the third-tier spells for the new fourth-tier spells and used new names for the third-tier spells.

Appearances

Dragon Quest X

Dancers will learn Kasizz at level 45 and Death Masters at level 74. The spell's damage calculation is (Magical Might - 169) x 169/541 +100~112 with a maximum range of 262~274 at 710 Magical Might. When the caster's stat rises to 711 and higher, the damage calculation will change to (Magical Might - 710) /5 + 262~274 , giving it a maximum damage of 420~432 at 1,500 Magical Might. This can be achieved through liberal application of buff spells and abilities. The spell costs 21 MP to cast, and will fire in a straight line from the conjurer for ten meters.

  • In the Offline version of the game, Kasizz can also be learned by Fuura at level 49. Its target range has returned to affecting a single group of enemies due to the change in battle system.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

The Luminary and Veronica will learn Kasizz at level 40 and 38, respectively. The spell costs 16 MP to cast and will deal a base range of 100~116. The spell starts to increase in power once the caster's Magical Might is 227 before capping at 216~232 once at 362 Magical Might. Two malicious Wizened wizards are able to cast Co-Kasizz if they both become pepped up.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2

Kasizz's base range is 66~72, and the maximum cap is 172~178. The follower skillsets teach the spell to a monster:

Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key

Kasizz costs 22 MP and will deal 95~105 damage. It grows in power once the monster's Wisdom surpasses 250 until reaching 999 points, dealing a maximum range of 209~231 damage.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

Kasizz has the same MP cost and damage range as in the previous two games.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Kasizz costs 22 MP and is learned via the Dhoulmagus, Hargon, Heavenly Herald, Heretic, Lightning Rod, Psaro the Manslayer, and Sizz Virtuoso talents. It has a base power of 100 and will deal an average of 220 damage at 999 wisdom.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below

GameDescription
Sends two snaking pillars of flame flying forth from the ground.[1]

Kasizz is the third tier spell of Maya and can be learned by investing 16 skill points. By charging her Sizzle spell for a short time, she can cast Kasizz for 17 MP, creating two powerful serpentine pillars of flame that zig-zag on the ground in front of her.

  • Like all of Maya Mahabala's spells, she is able to cast it in midair if she has learned Soaring Sizzler for 5 skill points.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End

Dragon Quest: Scan Battlers

Kasizz appeared as a 4★ giga rare special ticket spell that cost 2 SP to use. Bianca Whitaker would be summoned to cast the spell, its animation being the same as in The Adventure of Dai.

Dragon Quest Tact

Kasizz can be learned by Rickerd at level 38 and by Dracky and Tortured soul through Talent Blossoming. It costs 108 MP to cast, has a range of three squares in front of the caster, and inflicts major Sizz-type spell damage to all enemies in a range of three squares horizontally. Upgrading the spell increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast. The spell can be taught to any unit by using a Kasizz Scroll, which can be purchased from the Legend League Series 5 Medal Swap Shop for 5,000 Medals.

Jessica Albert has two different variations of the spell named Crimson Kasizz and Searing Kasizz, while Dark Commander Hadlar has a variation known as Extreme Heat Spell.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai

In the series, Hadlar describes Kasizz as his greatest spell, with Popp having knowledge of it and being terrified of the spell's destructive power. Hadlar first casts it against both him and Maam on Valge Island. When he casts it, Hadlar gathers intense heat energy in his hands, which arcs above his head, then he fires it off from his index fingers with his fists clenched. In the 1991 anime, it is depicted a beam of intense white light, while in the 2020 anime, Hadlar gathers crackling golden energy in his hands that he fires off as a beam of heat and light. Later on, Matoriv casts Kasizz against Hadlar as well, who becomes appalled that humans are able to cast the spell.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds

Kasizz appeared as a Special Move for Hadlar and the Luminary Leader. It is a long-range attack over a wide area that inflicted magical Fire damage five times and raised all allies' Fire damage temporarily by 30%. In this game, the spell's animation was closer to its manga depiction, with the caster gathering flames and sending out flames from their hands rather than the crackling energy beam from the anime.

The main way to unlock the skill was by obtaining the Scorching Staff from limited Treasure Hunts.
