Dragon Warrior Equipment

The Dragon Warrior Equipment (竜戦士装備 ryu senshi soubi) is a set of knight armour with dragon embellishments found in Dragon Quest IX, and is one of the game's sets of legendary equipment. Unlike most legendary gear in the series the Dragon Warrior set is totally unmissable, being given to the player by the wizened wyrm Greygnarl in his hom on Mt. Magmaroo. The reason for this is ue to a dramatic cutscene taking place shortly after, with the rendered model for the equipment filling in for the player.

EtymologyEdit

The name of the set is a homage to the Dragon Warrior international title used for the series prior to the modern localization standard set by Richard Honeywood in 2005 with Dragon Quest VIII.

TriviaEdit

Altogether the set reduces damage from darkness and fire attacks by 35%. Considering Greynarl's caustic rivalry with Barbarus, this is likely to give the light dragon's allies the advantage over his dark counterpart
