Equinox is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. It first appeared as a grotto boss in Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies but was later regulated as an enemy.

Etymology

His name originates from an astronomic term "Equinox", referring to the moment when the sun reaches one of two intersections between the ecliptic and the celestial equator as well as "Equine" which means horse.
