The garter is an accessory in the Dragon Quest franchise. It can only be equipped by female characters.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III remakes only

Only appearing in the remakes, the garter provides a defence boost of +3, but more importantly changes the Personality of the wearer to Vamp. It can be equipped by any class as long as they are female. One can be obtained by turning in 10 mini medals to the collector in Aliahan, and can be sold for 975 gold coins. Another garter can be found onboard the Ghost Ship. Another is located in the new town you drop your merchant in after defeating the boss troll. The town is built enough when the singing / dancing / apparently in love troubadors appear in the developing town.

Dragon Quest VII

The garter provides a defence boost of +3 and a style bonus of +15. It can only be worn by Maribel and Aishe. One can be found at Wilted Heart. Garters can be purchased at the Grand Slum final evolution of the Immigrant Town for 3,300 gold and sold for 1,650 gold. Garters can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.

Dragon Quest VIII

The garter provides a defence boost of +6. It can only be worn by Jessica. One can be found at Trodain castle and another at Red's House in a chest requiring the ultimate key. It can be sold for 700 gold.
