Sliceberg Japanese マヒャダイン Rōmaji Mahyadain Type Pep Power

Sliceberg is a Pep power that appears in Dragon Quest XI. It creates a huge iceberg, then bashes it to send countless icicles flying at an enemy.

Sliceberg can be performed by Veronica when she is pepped up, combining the power of her Kacrack spell with Serena's Crushed Ice skill. It deals ice damage a total of 12 times to a single enemy, with the power dependent on Veronica's Magical might, reaching to roughly 100 damage per hit when her magical might has reached 999. Although Veronica can learn Kacrack when she reaches level 44, Sliceberg's use is limited to the postgame since Serena can only learn Crushed Ice when her character builder has been expanded in the third act.

Etymology

Sliceberg's Japanese name Mahyadain (マヒャダイン) combines the names of both Hyadain and Mahyado. In the Japanese versions of Dragon Quest III and IV, Hyadain was the name of the third-tier ice spell before it was later replaced completely by Mahyado. In the English versions of III and IV, Hyadain would be translated as Karack, while Kacrackle would always be used for the strongest tier of ice magic.
