Zaboera is a character and antagonist in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. He is the leader of the Mystic Legion of the Dark Army, which consists of spellcasting monsters and other vile creatures. He is a highly intelligent and ruthless opportunist, willing to use anything and anyone as tools.
Appearance
Zaboera is a diminutive Darkling, having the appearance of a squat old man with sallow skin, a large head with a prominent brow, tall pointed ears, and a white beard that reaches down to his ankles. He wears a dark green cassock with a black and light pink high collar around his neck, a red and magenta scapular worn over it embroidered with the black insignia of Vearn near the bottom, and dark green pointed slippers. In his right hand, he carries a gnarled staff topped with the design of a spider with a red gemstone. Around the top of his head, he wears a peculiar black forehead guard that is able to contain all of his knowledge and memories. His son Zamza wears one, as well.
Abilities
As the leader of the Mystic Legion, Zaboera is an excellent sorcerer with a wide knowledge of spells that initially surpassed that of Hadlar. Due to his small stature, he does not excel when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, compensating with his magic and underhanded tactics instead. Hundreds of toxins flow within Zaboera's body, which he is able to secrete from his claws in order to severely poison, paralyse, brainwash, and even kill his opponents.
