Balzack

Balzack is a character in Dragon Quest IV. A disciple of the alchemist Edgar, Mara and Nara's father, he killed his teacher for the Secret of Evolution he had discovered. The entirety of Chapter 4 is centred on the twins' quest to confront Balzack, whom they finally confront and defeat at King Leo castle. If he is injured he will heal himself fully with Healall. In the fifth chapter, he is more powerful (the Monster Book displays him as "Balzack+"; he is now a recolored Gigademon), and is occupying the Castle Santohaim. He is very arrogant, and disliked even by his subordinate demons. His intention, he says, is to enhance his body to be even more godlike than Saro's, but he lacks the Golden Bracelet which allows him to use the full power of the Secret of Evolution.
