Baran (A Hero's Bonds)
Baran is a playable character in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds.
Dragon Master General
Baran becomes available after finishing Episode 8 - A Team Effort from the The Knight & The Hero event or by exchanging Seer Candles at Merle's Mystic Fortunes. His Ally Board is a stylised dragon's head much like the cover he wears over his left eye.
Baran is a warrior who specializes in Thunder-type attacks.
While his character acquisition event lasted, having him as the Luminary Leader's partner would grant additional tokens and upgrade orbs for this style.

Dragonoid
Dragonoid Baran appeared as a story boss many months before he became playable in the Human and Dragonoid Hearts event. After the event's end, he can be recruited from Merle's Mystic Fortunes by exchanging Seer Candles. His Ally Board is in the shape of his Dragon Crest.
Dragonoid Baran is the strongest physical Shadow attacker currently available in the game. He receives double experience while his event lasts. During that time period, having him as the Luminary Leader's partner would grant additional tokens and upgrade orbs for this variation.
