Barbatos (Infurnus Shadow in the NES version and HellGiant in DQVII) is a boss monster from Dragon Quest IV. He is a bull demon and is one of the four who maintains the barrier surrounding Psaro and Diabolic Hall. He casts Kaboom and breathes intense flames. He drops the Miracle Sword when he dies. In later appearances, he appears as a random enemy.

These brutal bovines are immune to Whack, Poof, Fuddle, Dazzle, Snooze, Drain Magic, and are highly resistant to all forms of attack magic except for Woosh and Zap spells.

It can be found in the Dark Palace and Zion Cave. There is a rare chance that the Barbatos will drop a Barbatos Heart, allowing a character to become a Barbatos, after taking it to Alltrades Abbey.
