The Barbatos is an intermediate monster vocation available in Dragon Quest VII.

Description

Barbatos is a human-like demon with goat legs and horns, along with a pair of wings on its back, resembling a fatter version of the infamous Baphomet. It gives slight to moderate boosts in resilience, style and Max HP, and has the ability to learn a variety of spells.

Upon mastering the blasphemous vocation, characters will receive a weak resistance to Bang, Woosh, and Zap, as well as a strong resistance to fire breath and all status ailments. Mastering the vocation is required to become a Djinn genie.

Requirements

In order to become a Barbatos, one must first master both the Goodybag and Dingbat vocations. A Barbatos Heart can also be won by playing the Lucky Panel game in the Casino at Buccanham* in the present or the Haven.

  • In the Nintendo 3DS version, it is also possible to acquire a Barbatos Heart by creating a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Barbatos as the boss.
