Blunt is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series. It decreases an enemy's attack by up to two levels, both incantations lowering the target's power by 25%.

Blunt is learned only by Mages at level 42. It costs 8 MP to cast, and has a base accuracy of 75% if the caster's magical might is lower or equal to 50. Once the stat increases to 51, the spell will slowly rise in accuracy to a cap of 100% at 799 magical might. Monsters that can cast Blunt: Dark skeletons

Dragon Quest XEdit

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit

Rab and Veronica will learn Blunt at levels 34 and 36, respectively. The spell costs 6 MP to cast, and can reduce an enemy's strength by up to 50% when cast twice.

Dragon Quest TactEdit

Blunt is known naturally by Alarmour and Stump champ at level 1 and can be learned by She-slime at level 16. It costs 9 MP to cast, has a range of three squares away from the caster, and greatly lowers a single target's ATK for 3 turns. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll.
