Canniboxes, like Mimics, are monster treasure chests with a pair of sharp teeth. The Cannibox most closely resembles an actual treasure chest because it is brown, unlike the off-color palettes of the Mimic and Pandora's Box.
Being a lesser variety of the Mimic, Canniboxes usually don't have access to instant-death moves but, rather, desperate attacks that can act as instant-death if the target's HP isn't sufficient enough to survive. An encounter with a Cannibox can usually be prevented by casting Peep on a chest to determine whether or not is a monster, though this may not help any if Canniboxes wander the area like normal monsters do.

|Description||Shut these big, bad boxes up with Fizzle before they send you to sleep with Sweet Breath or waste you with Whack|
Monsters who've morphed into boxes to ambush adventurers. What treasures await inside their well-guarded wooden depths?
On occasion, the respawnable treasure chests scattered around the game will be Canniboxes. They are challenging to scout.
