Clavius became king when his older brother Eltrio renounced his claim to the throne. With this, he was forced to fulfill the promise of peace left by his older brother. He has an extremely spoiled son in Charmles, with whom he is constantly displeased with. He originally asks Hero to help his son get the Argon Hearts in the trial (without knowing that Hero is his nephew, the son of Eltrio). In the original ending, he scolds the Prince for deception. In the special ending, he decrees that the Hero is the rightful groom since the Hero is Eltrio's son. Although he doesn't make the Hero the new prince, the pact is indeed sealed. The Hero is now heir to the throne of Trodain with peace between kingdoms.
