Cobi (ルカ, Ruka) is the brother of Tara and one of the main characters of Dragon Quest Monsters 2 and its remake Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key. He is the playable main character in his version of the game: Cobi's Journey.
Trivia
- When spoken together, Cobi and Tara's Japanese names form the Japanese word for dolphin: iruka (海豚). This plays into the tropical island setting of their games.
- Cobi and Tara's Japanese names were switched in the middle of development, with Yuji Horii stating that he felt Ruka sounded better as a boy's name[1].
