The cyclown is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. It is a blue, clown-like monster whose lower body is perpetually wrapped in a swirling whirlwind.
Characteristics
Cyclowns are blue humanoid creatures with cartoonish faces and two antennae on top of their heads. Their most notable feature is the cyclone that they ride around on, which completely obscures their lower body. They are elemental spirits associated with wind and they attack their foes with sharp, cutting gales. When a cyclown is defeated in Dragon Quest IX, their whirlwind will disappear, revealing that their lower bodies are scrawny.
