The Deadcurion is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. These undead soldiers perished in battle and continue to wield their weapons and armor from beyond the grave.
Characteristics
Long dead warriors that have walked the battlefield for ages, forever leaning on their lances. They can still wield it effectively, able to lash out with multiple strikes to deal extra damage. The zombies wear a full set of silver armor, including a plumed knight's helmet, and a tattered red cape that hangs from their shoulders. Although not a massive threat, their frightening appearance has sent many any adventurer screaming from battle. Their most notable feature is the horrifying eyeball that hangs from their skulls.

Etymology
In Japanese mythology, Shinigami (死神) are death gods or supernatural spirits that invite humans to death. Their English names are a combination of the words "dead" and "centurion", a type of military officer from Ancient Rome who commanded 100 men in battle.
