Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (ドラゴンクエストヒーローズ 闇竜と世界樹の城 Doragon Kuesuto Hīrōzu Yami Ryū to Sekaiju no Shiro or Dragon Quest Heroes: The Dark Dragon and the World Tree Castle) is a spinoff game and the first Dragon Quest game to be released for the PlayStation 4. The game received generally good reviews, and a sequel was released on May 27, 2016 in Japan. It was released on the Nintendo Switch, released as Dragon Quest Heroes I + II in Japan.

Plot

The setting is the peaceful Kingdom of Arba. People and monsters lived in harmony until the monsters mysteriously went berserk. Humanity is surrounded by the monster armies and use anything they can to survive. The nefarious Velasco schemes to plunge the world into darkness by taking control of all the monsters in order to release the darkness dragon Shadroth: Lord of the Night.
