 Dragon Quest VIII is the eighth Dragon Quest role-playing game in the series published by [[Square Enix]] released in North America on the Playstation 2. It is the first game of the series to be in full 3D.
 ==Story==
-The story of Dragon Quest VIII begins with the hero, Yangus, King Trode, and Princess Media who are on their way to see a fortuneteller who can tell them where Dhoulmagus is.  The reason for seeking him is that he cursed King Trode, his daughter, and his kingdom and all the people in it.  King Trode was turned into a monster while his daughter was turned into a horse.  His castle was covered and vines and the people turned into part of the plantlife.  The story of the game revolves around the hero and his friends and their quest to find Dhoulmagus and undo his vile curse.
